Incline Public House

Eating outside, a gorgeous panoramic view, good food, and service with a sense of humor.  These are a few of my favorite things.  Just so happens, Incline Public House has all of these!  I discovered Incline last summer and even though there’s usually a wait, here’s what I absolutely adore about this place: you get the most breathtaking view of the city while you enjoy a tasty, casual dinner …nothing too fancy or too pricey. This is a nice change of pace.  Often times, restaurants with a view like this are either super stuffy or super costly. Now, there is indoor seating at Incline Public House, and you will get seated faster if you take indoor seating, but this place is all about the view.  Don’t give in.  Plan on getting a drink and enjoying some good conversation.  There are a couple high top tables and some benches-  it makes the perfect place to wait.

A girl never likes to feel left out.

IMG_3730As far as food, Incline Public House has an in-house smoker and a brick oven.  The menu focuses on pizzas, gourmet sandwiches, and salads. Like I said, really good pub food made from scratch! Each time I’ve started with the Spicy Pickle Fries with remoulade.  I am such a fan of fried pickles and these are done so well.

For meals, a few of our favorites so far have been:

  • Braised short rib grilled cheese (caramelized onion • swiss • bbq • white bread)
  • House burger (bacon • cheddar • greens • tomato • crispy onions • bun)
  • Black and Blue salad (blackened flat iron steak • mixed greens • fried egg • crispy onions • Maytag bleu cheese • horseradish vinaigrette)
  • Fish & Chips (fries • slaw • tartar sauce)
  • Garbage Pizza (red sauce • bacon • pepperoni • sausage • peppers • onions • mushrooms • arugula • egg)

The wood fired pizzas are light and crispy with slightly charred edges and are finished with gourmet toppings.  The burgers are juicy and thick.  The fish and chips is classic- can’t go wrong here.  The batter on the fish and the onion rings is really well-seasoned and not overpowering. I really like these onion rings!  Hands down though, I have to say my favorite order so far has been the Braised Short Rib Grilled Cheese sandwich.  This sandwich has plenty of tender short rib meat, the cheese is perfectly gooey and the barbecue sauce has just the right amount of sweetness to balance it all out.

If you’re into history, the Incline Public House is named after one of several inclines that operated in Cincinnati over 140 years ago.  This one in Price Hill was one of the steepest.  How cool would it be if these were still in operation today!?  There are some incredible pictures hanging inside the restaurant and on the website.  I also suggest checking out the website for the Incline’s blog promoting many nightly events and specials.

What I appreciate most about eating at Incline is sitting outside, not being in a hurry, talking over plates of good food, and appreciating the city! Now that is just my style!

My boyfriend and I LOVE Incline Public House. We just ate there Saturday as a a matter of fact. We’ve always debated the short rib grilled cheese but have never pulled the trigger. After seeing your pics of it though, it’s a definite the next time we are there.

We love this place! I went there for my first time with you and love going back! Last night we were there to celebrate Kenny’s birthday and enjoyed their delicious house made white sangria. So crisp and refreshing, while not too sweet. I had the salmon which was delicious and Kenny got pizza which is never a let down. And for dessert-bananas foster bread pudding! It was a wonderful dinner as always! And the service is always spectacular too. I can’t say enough good things.
